Café De Piccolo, a working document
The photography brief
So your home opens on your room and not on a placeholder, and so the brief can go to any photographer, or to us for a morning.
Why photographs decide this
Google’s review topics put “ambience” first by a distance: 271 mentions against 75 for the staff. People come for the room. A home that does not show it in the first screen has missed the point. Your Dehradun site shows a stock photograph instead; this one must not.
The gallery today
Five of the seventy-two photographs on your Zomato page, the ones the case study uses. They show the room well and the plates well. What they do not show is the people, the front, the hutch close up, or daylight.

The room from the door.
The room, wide.
The table by the windows.
The cakes.
Brunch.
The shot list
- The room from the door, mid-morning, every table set, nobody posing. 3:2 and 4:5.
- The bottle-green hutch, straight on, with what sits on it.
- The checkerboard floor with chair legs and a table edge, low and tight.
- The front of the shop on Madhya Marg, in the evening with the lights on, from across the parking. The one evening shot.
- A brunch table from above: English breakfast, avocado toast, cappuccinos, hands.
- A cappuccino on a saucer, in window light, on the floral cloth.
- The pizza as it lands; the lasagne cut; the tres leches on its plate. Three dish portraits.
- Your team, in the room, as they are. First names will go beneath.
- The private room set for a gathering, and the same room with people in it.
- One detail only: the bunting, a framed print or a lamp.
- The seal, as it exists in the room, if it does. An August 2026 reviewer could not find your name inside.
- The street sign and the SCO numbers, for the visit page.
Light and time
- Daylight, between ten and noon, when the windows do the work and the lamps are warm but not loud.
- No flash. No cooling filters: the room is warm, keep it warm.
- One evening session for the front and the lamps.
Never
- Stock photographs, of any restaurant, anywhere.
- Renders, AI images, or photographs of the Dehradun room standing in for Chandigarh.
- Discount cards, offer boards or platform stickers in frame.
Formats
- 3:2 for the wide screens, 4:5 for phones, both from each setup.
- At least 2400 pixels on the long side, colour untouched.
- Named by subject, not by number: room-from-door.jpg.
